Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre – Atrium Expansion
We provided floor-spring mounted steel doorsets in this prestigious project. The doorsets required 2-hour fire resisting rating and posed a great challenge in fire certifications because of the extra height (2.8m door height + 1.4m overpanel height) and floor-spring support. Special door construction and sealing configuration were designed and subsequently fire-tested to meet the stringent requirements. The doorsets also required powder-coated cladding panels and stainless steel feature stripes to make an attractive door finish.
We also designed, manufactured and installed oversized sliding doors and oversized folding door in the project. The sliding doors are 2-hour rated and electrical-operated. As fire protection doors, the sliding doors are opened electrically and kept open with electromagnet system. When fire signal is triggered, the doors will be automatically closed by a counterweight system.
